Tommorrow I am starting my journey to 12 days in Italy with my daughter. 8 nights in Anacapri and 3 nights in Ischia.
I'll have to write reviews on our hotels and all the restaurants when I come back.

Eight nights in Anacapri... Even the thought of the lovely air makes me feel deliciously light-headed... Bon voyage!

Have a great trip and please report back on Ischia. My daughter is going in late September and wants to do a day at a spa there. Enjoy!

We went to Ischia once before on a day trip. We went to the negombo thermal park in Feb 2007.

This time we want to go to Villa Robusta Museum and the La Mortella (sp?) Botanical Park. I would like to see the volcanic beach at Maronti with the hot sand.

I LOVED Negombo, and didn't even know you could rent bathrobes. It was a cool day and I had to use every ounce of mental power not to feel freezing when I would come out of this pool or that. I still loved it.

I just loved Ischia. Stayed in a hotel called Villa Durrueli, which is right next to a lovely, large park and walking distance from the castle. I had half board (popular in Ischia) and the food was the best I ate in 17 days in Italy. I wish I had stayed one night longer there and one night less in Naples.

Ahhhh, Anacapri holds some of my fondest memories of Italy......so romantic. I felt as though I was in a Sophia Loren film!

Please report on Ischia as I have not had that pleasure yet.....

ciao,
Cheryl

We are staying in Hotel Europa in Ischia Ponte. It looked like a good area for shopping and restaurants and well connected by the buses.

Where will you be staying in Anacapri?

I'm planning on going back in a few months.

While in Ischia don't forget to try the simply divine digestivo Finocchietto, I'm so lusting after it here in the USA...

For anyone interested in Ischia, today's New York Times summer Travel supplement contains a two page article on the island. Don't know if this is available on their website.

This is where we stayed in Anacapri.

It was great. We averaged 88 euros a night May 15-May 23. The pictures were entirely accurate. The views were outstanding. Anacapri was much quieter and less crowded than Capri-Capri.
I'll have to write a review.
