Amanda takes us on a small walking tour of the wonderful medieval Umbrian town of Citta della Pieve.

Lovely to see Citta` della Pieve getting some press. It is a charming, laid back town with a wonderful atmosphere.

Thank you for the report and the gorgeous photos, Amanda!

Thanks for the kind words Valda, everyone who has been to Citta della Pieve seems to love it!

We are lucky enough to live nearby, this part of Italy is generally laid back and untroubled by mass tourism. I've got a few more post cards lined up, but 'La Pieve' was my first so thanks for the encouragement.

Thanks, Amanda - and welcome to Slow Travel Talk!

I enjoyed your article. I've heard of Citta delle Pieve, so it was nice to read more about it and see photos. Looking forward to your participation in the forums and the SlowTrav site.

We were just in Citta della Pieve on Oct. 20 and it is every bit as charming as you described. My one regret is that the cathedral was closed for renovation but then so is half of Itlay, I think! BJinNM

BjinNM What a pity you couldn't get into the cathedral, it's only just gone into restoration and hopefully it will be finished by next season. I'm glad you liked the postcard, stay tuned as I have another one about 'La Pieve' (as the locals call it) coming soon.
