I'm trying to find a nice hotel for 6 people in Ct for 3 days in June. We had rooms booked at Hotel Pasquale, but our itiniary was changed by one day (delta airlines changed our flight!). Hotel Pasquale or it's "sister" hotel, Villa Steno can not accomodate us with the new dates. I have been frantically searching every hotel in Monterosso without much luck. I have emailed at least 20 hotels. I contacted all that are listed on monterrosso.com & the CT website. Of the few hotels who have rooms, I can't find many traveler reviews for them & that worries me. Does anyone have first hand knowledge of Villa Adriana or Le Giare? The other hotel that has vacancies is Villa Accini, but it has bad reviews on Trip Advisor. Do you have any recommendations of a great place that I may not know about?? We're getting a little desperate as we're 6 weeks away from our trip! Thank you for any help.
Hi, I'm so sorry to hear about your hotel woes. I stayed in a very lovely hotel in Monterossa for 4 nights last June 2007. The name is Hotel La Colonnina. Absolutely wonderful location, great accommodations, the most helpful friendly staff, great breakfast, clean etc. I would go back in a heartbeat. I hope they have something for you. Tel: ++39.0187.817439 website: www.lacolonninacinqueterre.it In July of 2005 we stayed outside of Cinque Terre in the first town just beyond called Levanto. You may be able to find something at Villa Margarita. It has been reviewed on these boards and you can see it was well received. It is a family run B&B and lovely. The trains run frequently stopping in Levanto so if you get desparate and cannot find anything in one of the 5 towns you would not be disappointed with the accommodations there. We chose not to stay there in 2007 because we wanted to be right in the towns and our agenda was just to relax by the beach. Good luck! I'm sorry I do not know anything about the other hotels you mentioned. I hope La Colonnina can help you out! Barb Cabot

Thanks so much for your reply, Barb. La Colonnina was one of the hotels that I contacted. Unfortunately, they are full. They have great reviews by on Trip Adviser, too. I can see why you loved it so much!
My favorite hotel in Monterosso is Il Giardino Incantato . It has (by far) the nicest, most charming and well equipped rooms in the village. It does not have a sea view, but there is a wonderful garden for breakfast and the sea is just a 2 minute walk away.
We like a nice B&B in Vernazza Pensionne Sorrisio. While they have a web site with good info, they do not like email so you have to call but Francesca is lovely and speaks English and the price is nice. They have a great breakfast, it is safe, clean and a terrific location in town. Some rooms have a little terrace
Thanks so much Megan & Terran. A couple of these places look gorgeous on-line. These are places that I had not already contacted. I sent emails today... Keep your fingers crossed! Thanks again.
Barb, Megan, Terran: could we count on getting some reviews on these great places you recommend? We have only one review on Monterosso, for example, and that is two nights in 2005. We could use some updates for the town and the region!
Don't know if you've already tried it, but Hotel Amici was very nice when I stayed there for a few days in October 2006 (see link below). The room ws small but had a great terrace (it was so cool to wash my clothes and hang them on the terrace just as the residents in the next building were doing). As I recall, half-board was included in the price and quite frankly, the food was delicious; usually I don't do hotel food in Italy, I like to enjoy the authenticity of the outdoors and eat at restaurants, but again, the hotel fare was great and I met some nice people when I would partake. The hotel is not near the sea but it's only a few minutes away by foot. Good luck and enjoy, wherever you decide to stay in Monterosso will be great.
According to the "bylaws" of ST, I cannot write a review for Il Giardino Incantato as I have not stayed overnight there, just my clients. But I've had extensive visiting privileges to the property and know the owners. So in a nutshell, if I were able to write a review, it would be glowing.
Doru, I have submitted a review of "La Colonnina" in Monterossa, CT and "Villa Margherita" in Levanto but have not seen it appear. I wrote it about 3 weeks ago along with some other reviews on Rome and Savannah. So far I think one review has been posted. Probably there is a backlog of reviews waiting for approval and mine are among them. Barb Cabot
