There are trains from Punta Raisi, which is, I imagine, a village or town near the airport, which was called Punta Raisi before it was renamed Falcone-Borsellino. You can check it out at www.trenitalia.com.

Or do you mean the Metro service from the airport to Palermo? This is the schedule.

It must be the metro service if that is a train. We are suppose to meet our host at the Orleans station. I was under the impression there was no station at the airport for trains. I did not know about the metro service. Thank you.

We took this metro/train service from Palermo Centrale less than a month ago. Directions to it are very well marked, with a symbol that I just assumed was a train. The walk to it did not require going outdoors. There was a handy ticket booth near the tracks. I see the Orleans station is shown on the schedule Eloise posted, so you should be all set.

Correction to my above post--we took the train/metro FROM Palermo airport TO downtown Palermo. So the details I mention are for the airport.
