Is anyone familiar with any outlets in Umbria..we will be in Todi for a few days... Seems most of the outlets are in the Tuscany area... Also, can anyone recommend any restaurants in Todi...

In the area of Magione and Taverne di Corciano, near Perugia you have several Cashmere outlets like Losani and Vannucci. You can also go to Brunello Cucinelli in Solomeo.

The Valdichiana Village Outlet is quite an eye-opener with outlet stores for many of the big name designers in the complex.

The goods are mostly current fashion or just past it. Many of the fashionable young people of Perugia do their shopping there.

The prices are lower than in the normal retail outlets - generally around 30% lower but often much lower if there's a further reduction.
For example, at Golden Point the hosiery is about half the price.

As Letizia says, there are other outlets near Perugia (the cashmere one at Solomeo is excellent but I find the prices rather high). They tend not to be right next to each other, though, and you need to hop in your car to get from one to another.
At Valdichiana you have about 40 (?) stores all in the same complex which makes it very convenient.

I note that this outlet is about 20 minutes from where we'll be in Montisi in a few weeks. Thank you Valad, stef_m and google maps.

Dont forget the Nazareno Gabrielli outlet in Torgiano and lots of addresses in the Scoprioccasioni (Designer Bargains in Italy) book.

Cashmere is mostly too expensive for me, even though one can get lucky at Losani or Vannucci. Last time I went to Losani they had some great prices but no color that would suit me and rather small sizes as usual.

I tend to buy my sweaters at Luisa Spagnoli which by the way has an outlet at Santa Lucia, in the suburbs of Perugia. However thier selections in the shops is far superior, quality is unbelievable and prices are not out of the world. Plus they still produce here!

I go often to Valdichiana but I find that, besides very few shops, most fashion there is for the very young. Again, lots of small sizes
