Here are the guidelines: You select one of your own photos to post that in some way utilizes the topic. Use the topic as a concrete prompt, or find a novel approach. Each person, just one post/photo per thread topic, (or two if you must)please. Photos should be resized to be no wider than 600 pixels. Too-large photos slow down the loading of the thread, and will be deleted. Read about how to post a photo in a thread, here. If you have an idea for a photo hunt topic, contact one of the Mods to offer the suggestion instead of beginning another thread.
Posting photos in the thread gives your permission for SlowTrav to eventually move the photos over to Photohunt albums in the SlowPhotos Galleries. This week's prompt is "Lunchtime."
You're encouraged to describe your photo--where you shot it, details of what you were doing or what was going on, etc.
We were I was in Manarola, Cinque Terre enjoying all the wonderful food. I was enjoying it so much I forgot to take pictures. When I did remember it was almost gone. BUT it was so good.
Lunch on the beach on Isola Palmaria, a short boat ride from Portovenere. This was in mid-October, and it was warm enough that after lunch, we went for a swim.

I always smile when I remember this lunch in Spoleto. The waiter was quite a character and made a big production out of presenting the primi course to my friend Mark. When he lifted the cover, it was a miniscule portion that made us all laugh. I can't recall the name of the restaurant but it's the only one with an outside terrace with a beautiful view of the Duomo. The food was excellent and as you might imagine the service was very friendly.
Lunch in my Florence apartment on via Cavour...it was a family lunch and we each brought something to the table! So delicious.

Lunch at my apartment in Rome, just after the cooking class I took with Maureen Fant. Frigitelli fresh from the Testaccio Market, one of those neat, hard crackers from the neighborhood bakery, freshly grated cheese, and a pear to finish.
The beginning of a jet-lagged but happy first lunch in Venice this past December at Vecio Fritolin. The house prosecco came in this cute little pitcher with a fish on it.
This is a different take on Lunchtime. As we were looking for a place to have lunch in Assisi, we passed these two walking up from the Basilica (we like to imagine they were calling home on the cell phone one was passing to the other to say they were on the way for pranzo). Everybody's gotta eat...

Whoo hoo, BJinMN; The Taverna is high on my list of places to take Scott when we are in Rome next month. I just showed the picture to his study group, and they were, "Awesome, man!" We are so excited to be going together to my dream city.
Best fried artichokes we had in Rome, and we tried several!! All good but these were the best ever!! I dream of them sometimes! Enjoy your visit. BJinNM
One of my favourite lunches every year is the first one on the roof terrace of our little Ostuni house, at our Easter visit. We leave a cool and grey England, and arrive in a brilliantly sunny Puglia: a real boost to the spirits.
Here's our typical lunch menu: a bowl of pasta (this looks like aglio olio e peperoncino) followed by some crudo (still in its supermarket bag), mozzarella, salad, and a jug of Primitivo. Simple pleasures!

It is a small world... the priest on the left presided as we renewed our wedding vows in 2006 in Assisi...It is indeed a small world.

My husband is a great cook and his daughter is a professor at the French Culinary Institute in NY. Our apartment was a stone's throw from the central market in Florence, where the two of them ran amok daily!!

After walking to the top of La Rocca in Cefalu, Sicily, we enjoyed a simple lunch in our apartment, put together from the local supermercato and the frutta e verdura across the street (the wild strawberries). Being Aussies, the obligatory tube of vegemite was an added bonus. The beer was very refreshing after the walk.
This is Francesca, Sara and Anna, tired to wait for me to have lunch. They just went to the pizza place and bought some pizzas and coke, and ate it on the steps of my store. How cool is that!
