Hi, this Slow Travel website has some great reviews:
San Gimignano restaurants

I stay at La Cisterna but I have only had lunch at its restaurant (Ristorante Le Terrazze) once.

Good luck,
Leslie.

I have posted this before but for 10 years our fave has been Peruca on Via Capassi, great wine list all local producers, the Duck Ragu is sinful, the cheese plate with local pecorino and chutneys will make your eyes roll back in pleasure. One night Johnny Lee Hoker is playing in the backround then another night it was the Rat Pack. Try it.

Peace

We stay and often eat at Le Vecchie Mura, right on the old wall. They have 3 very economical rooms upstairs that they rent, and good food. They have terrace seating when the weather is good which is wonderful. They are only open for the evening meal. You can hear restaurant noise until about 11pm in their rooms but it has never kept me awake. Not much English spoken there but we speak a few Italian words so we get by. We will be back there soon, drinking the great wine of Tuscany.

Two of the best, and most frequented by residents, are Il Pino which is at the far end of SG on the last street on the right before you go out the North Gate. Reservations are recommended and they accept charge cards.

The other, and my personal favorite, is Chiribiri which is located on the first street to the left as you come in the main gate of SG. It is up some stairs and you will see the restaurante at the top of the stairs. The entrance is just a little further up. Reservations HIGHLY recommended as they only seat 26 people in the total restaurant and it is CASH ONLY.

Reviews for both are on this site.
