Is Sant' Antimo more crowded on Saturday-Sunday? I am somewhat crowd adverse and would rather visit in relative solitude. My schedule is flexible, I will be there in late April- early May.

hello,
the tourist season is just swinging into high gear now, so a lot of tourist sites, including sant' antimo, will be crowded. during the high season, i've been there on different occasions on weekdays and weekends and it was about the same.

it is such a wonderful, peaceful place.

pauline has written a review of the abbey on slow travel that you may want to review.

You should still be early enough in the summer to have a relatively uncrowded visit IMO.

People are always respectful of the quiet that is such a part of the experience. Most of the noise inside comes from the birds that fly inside the abbey.
