Hi,
Where can I find what zone is covered by this ticket. I read from the post here that 3 zone CIRS ticket should cover FR1 Train from Fiumicino Airport to Rome center, but I can't find what/where is the limit for 3 zone.

Can some one point me to link/website that has this info?

My plan is to buy a one week CIRS ticket for use in Rome and if I have extra time, I would like to explore outside Rome...

Thanks!

There's a map of sorts at www.atac.roma.it.

Click on Biglietti e abbonamenti, then on I titoli di viaggio, then on CIRS.

This CIRS page shows a map (also attached below) that shows only outlines of the zones.

Also notice the phrase "trova la zona dove sta il tuo Comune" This was a hyperlink that allowed you find out which zone a town is in, but the link is either broken or wasn't activated when they redid the website.

With the BIRG,(1day) the BTR (3 day)and the CIRS (7day) regional tickets, the center of Rome, zone A, counts as two zones. On the train and metro map of Rome,(available on the ATAC website umder "Mappe", (look for the Metro e ferrovie regionali) the station where the second zone starts is marked with red lettering.

The best thing to do would be to buy your CIRS from some place that will be able to tell you how many zones you need to buy.

In the fall of 2005 we stayed at a villa in Ariccia and were able to use a 3 zone BIRG or CIRS for our travel into Rome. The ticket is also good for the buses and metro and even the CoTral blue buses in Lazio.

If you are mainly going to be in Rome, you could buy a 3 zone BIRG for the first day, and then one of the daily (BIG) or multiday (BIT or CIS) Rome only tickets, and then get another BIRG when you want to travel outside Rome.
