I am debating between making reservations and not making them for six people to go to the Accademia in Florence in late November on a Thursday afternoon. The tickets look to be 6.50 euro and reservations are an additional 4 euro from what I see.
Has anyone been to Florence in late November (20th) who can share experience with the lines at this museum?
I have been there in November and the lines were significantly shorter than in April/May. I think it depends on how many days you have in Florence. If you want to be guaranteed entry on a certain day, you should reserve. I'm not sure the fee is as high as you think? There are lots of threads on here on how you can call the Florence museum phone lines to reserve for a very nominal amount.
If you are flexible, you can just turn up and see. I really don't think they will be too long in November. A lot of the students are getting ready to leave Florence as the term of study ends around then, so that also helps.
I was there in late November 2005, and didn't reserve for the Accademia. We walked past the museum at about 11am and the crowds to get in were out the door and rather chaotic. We came back around 3:00, and there were no crowds to get in. Once in, however, there were plenty of people but it was really quite manageable.

Thank you for all of the replies. I just contacted my hotel and asked about help making reservations; they told me it was 18 euro each for the Accademia and Uffizi. Seems like they have marked it up a bit so I will make the reservations online.
Dingo - We'll be in Florence in October. Our hotel has confirmed that there is not much of a line at the Accademia over the lunch hour or late afternoon.
