This may be a strange request, but I thought that I would give it a shot regardless....
When in Italy in 1988 as a college student, I found myself in Bologna during August. The city was somewhat empty, making the viewing of the great city simpler, though the downside was that many restaurants were closed and finding an available place was difficult. I basically wandered through the city center and noticed people going to a particular place and followed. In no time I was seated and had a wonderful meal involving tortellini in red wine sauce. Being young, naive and hungry, I failed to note the name of the place. The only distinctive thing I recall is a leopard on the menu, and the term "gatto" in the name, otherwise the seating area was simple with a wood-burning oven. How I got to and from the restaurant I will never remember, unfortunately, but it couln't have been too far from the Hotel Roma where I was staying.
I haven't been able to find anything in web sites or the Bologna Yellow Pages, and was wondering if anyone out there has any information regarding the restaurant. I realize that it may now be gone, but would certainly like to get some idea where I was for future reference. Unfortunately I have little more information from memory (I recall spending an incredible amount of time wandering around in amazement!!)
I'm posting here since it seems that someone living in Bologna in 1988 may know what I am talking about. Thanks so very much......
Thank you so very much for the reference and I believe it is the correct place. The location (Via Marsala), as best I can remember, is also in the correct direction. Fifteen years ago, it was getting dark, I had walked what seemed like a million miles and needed a stop for food. Unfortunately that was all I can conjure up from my brain, but I think that it is correct.
