I just arrived back in the States Sunday night, June 6th from the most amazing trip! I'm already missing the coffee, the food, and the charming Italian men!
I wanted to let everyone know that I had a wonderful experience with Roma Shuttle and have a number of hotels to recommend if anyone is interested:
* The rooms are absolutely spotless, very cozy and quaint. I had a balconey with a great view. The people who run the hotel were very warm and quite helpful.
Hotel La Plage (Taormina / Isola Bella) phone: 011 39 0942 626 095
* The is situated right on the beach. The rooms are tiny little bungalows that are very small, but who cares ..... who stays in their room? Very clean, wonderful staff and the owner, Giovanni is lovely.
Hotel Riva del Sole (Cefalu) phone: 011 39 0921 421 230
* I LOVED Cefalu! This hotel was spotless. The staff warm, extremely helpful and answered all of our questions.
There were other hotels that I stayed in, but these are the ones that really impressed me so I thought I would pass them along.
I do have a few questions. I would love to be able to live and work as an instructor some where in Italy. I am currently a college professor (I teach public speaking, interpersonal communication, gender and communication, etc.) and have always played around with the idea of living abroad and teaching. My question to you folks is this: How do I get started? Who should I contact? I have heard that many people go abroad to teach English, but I don't know how necessary this is in Italy. My BA and MA are both in Speech Communication so I am quite qualified I just don't know where to get started.
If anyone might be able to point me in the appropriate direction, I would certainly appreciate it.
If anyone has any questions for me, please feel free to ask.
Hello. I am planning a trip for next summer in the south of Italy. I need to decide whether my friends and I should stay in Positano and Sorrento. What was Positano like? How was the beach there? Thanks in advance.
