It has rained everyday since we've been here, but it's really not bad. The mornings are lovely and the rain in the afternoon forces us to take it easy.
Lyn--I am cold. I have yet to wear any capris or short sleeve shirts. And I have worn my turtle neck twice.
Detail on my blog of how our plans were derailed. We are, this morning, at the lovely Genius Loci, B&B near Bevagna. Really, really gorgeous views!
Jan, we're so sorry about the weather! Altho it's bad enough for those of us who live here, I feel even worse for people like you who only have a limited time here! Every day brings rain..sometimes early, somtimes late, but it always comes. Doing laundry is my biggest challenge! I hope you're able to fit in a few enjoyable activities between the showers!
Hi Jan, Thanks for the update on the weather. You know me! I told Christianna last night that I was packing 2 turtlenecks and she thought I was crazy. Maybe it will warm up by the time we get there...but I hate to be cold, as you are well aware! (By the way, high temperature in Tallahassee yesterday was 98 F...)
I've been noticing scarves and T-necks at the French Open in Paris so I think summer is coming late for much of Europe. Last year we swam in the Tyrrhenian Sea in mid-May. Not this year. The air was chilly even on sunny days.

Down here we have plenty of warmth. Down in Termoli yesterday the locals were flocking to the beach and it must have been low 30s. The locals are usually in parkas when the German tourists are in shorts so you know it's warm. The rain came back but it's only very short bursts unlike a few weeks ago.
I did hear that last week had some fairly cool evenings inland.
So I went and read the blog, Jan. That's quite a large glass of lemonade, but all's well now it sounds. How wonderful to have friends who have friends . . .small traveling world sometimes. And who would have thought that you would be having this weather - we're looking ahead and it looks like we may also not have the heat we always do.
Oh my Jan that is quite a turn of events. How wonderful that your ST connections led to a happy ending! AND that the owner of the rental was willing to refund your money. Hopefully, the weather will warm up (she says sweltering in 90 degree heat)and this will be the last hiccup in your journey!
Jan, what a shame about the bad weather -- on top of everything else you've been through!
It was wonderfully hot when I was Umbria this time last year, it made it great for getting out and about. I hope that kind of weather returns soon so you can get out your capris.
I'm enjoying your blog and glad to read that you've found a wonderful replacement, in Genius Loci, for the ghastly, moldy apartment.
