As I mentioned in an earlier post, I just purchased our tickets for our Spring trip to Italy; this will be our longest trip--30 days in Italy.
We fly out of Dulles on May 5 and will arrive in Palermo the next day. I haven't figured out the exact itinerary but basically I want to spend about 10 days in Sicily, then drive through Calabria and southern Campania to the Amalfi Coast. After a week on the Amalfi Coast, I want to go to Molise for a few days and end up in Rome for the last four days. We leave Italy on June 6.
So I would be happy to start collecting ideas and recommendations from the Slow Talk group....thanks in advance for any and all contributions. We have been to Sicily and the Amalfi Coast but I need a refresher--Sicily, in particular, has been very popular with my clients.
On your way up to Ravello from Amalfi, pay a visit to the town of Scala(the oldest on the Amalfi Coast) and the villages of Minuta and Pontone all are full of history and offer fantastic views of Ravello and the Amalfi Coast.Visit the Ristorante San Giovanni in Pontone WWW.ristorantesangiovanni.com
Jim, I was pleasantly surprised with the area around Maratea and the Gulf of Policastro. And, you may want to stay at the Villa Cheta Elite as a special place to send your clients.
