Okay, this is an odd question. We go to Italy every year and stay in an apartment for 4 weeks.
In the last year I've developed Psoriasis (pain in the butt disease) and because of that, I have installed a shower head water filter. I want to take one of these filters to Italy this fall. To install you just take your shower head off, put the filter on and then the shower head on after the filter.
My very obscure question? Are the shower pipes the same size as in US.
My understanding is that the pipes and fittings are the same and your shower head should work fine. I wish I had known that before we renovated our apartment, because Italian plumbing fixtures cost a lot more than US.

Curious about the benefits of the water filter. I had the impresssion that psoriasis was best treated by avoiding water (not entirely obviously). Is saline water better than non-salinated water?

I think psoriasis is very very individual. Go to psoriasis.org message boards. In my case somethink in the water causes extreme itching and the water filter has helped a bunch.
