Hi folks! Has anyone stayed at Catello di Gargonza in Arrezo? A friend just returned from Italy and said he had the best food of his trip at their restaurant and that the place was wonderful. Alan and I, with the endorsements of many of you, will drive from Rome to Florence, and are thinking of stopping here for a couple of days. I would love to hear from any of you who have stayed here. Although it has been a number of years since I have stayed at Castello di Gargonza, I have had friends that have gone back more recently and enjoyed their stay.

Know the place but have never stayed. It's away from most everything so if you are looking for solitude it will be great.

I have eaten at the Osteria down the road "Cacciatore" seems right, for a quick lunch when out and about - not bad.
