Hi

When I went to Rome last weekend we passed a place where there was construction work and it said something about a metro line C opening. When will it be completed?

2004. Smile I'm serious. That was the projected end date. But like everything in Rome if you plant a daisy you end up digging up a world heritage site. Which is the problem they are running into. In 2004 they ran into the remnants of what they think are the absolutely most original walls. Stopped construction for a year. Etc, etc..

Basically it is anybody's guess. Once it is completed then "A good Accomodation" at vrbo becomes a great location. Until then it is a major hike to the tram at the end of the hill.

Obviously all this discovery of priceless ruins slows the digging down. But this is italy and most schedules seem like they are only "suggestions". Ara pacis restoration was I don't know how many years behind schedule. With Ara pacis after they dug the basement for the museum they put it in (which I am sure brought to light more ruins), other than the 'suggestion" part of the equation, I am not sure what led to it taking so long.
