You should talk to our guests from Texas who just arrived on an Alitalia flight from Newark, their bags were missing (these things happen of course) and when the luggage showed up 2 days later, not only were they damgaged, but items had been stolen out of them in spite of TSA locks.

At this time I would not book a long stay return flight with Alitalia, they are in serious financial problems.
