just wondering what the fashion or "trends" are in italy for the spring/summer for girls under 30....has anyone noticed what the girls are wearing (skinny jeans, skinny capris)?... wanted to know what to pack for evening wear for dinner or just out on the town...

Ok, this may sound harsh - but who cares?! After living here for the past 3 years (and having been fairly trendy/fashionable before moving here), I have found (many) times the fashion here to be absolutely ridiculous. Stick to the basics. Jeans always work as well as linen in the summer. If you are coming on vacation, the most important thing is to be comfortable regardless of what the local is wearing...

Black.
Skinny everythings.
Fabulous sunglasses.
Comfortable shoes.
The camera will be a 'tourist' give away...but how else will you show your friends how good you looked on the Piazza? Cool

A photo report is ready except for two photos. It is still too cold for Capri anything, even in Capri.

Hahaha! Yes, the spring fashions here at the moment are, as Megan said, RIDICULOUS!

If you want to wear knickerbocker-style pants, or bizarre-looking "dress shorts" with stockings and knee high flat boots, then you'll be right in fashion! Also, jackets here for spring are really cropped, so unless you have a very small bottom it's best to avoid them.

Stick to classic, basic things, like a nicely cut pair of jeans and a jacket and you'll fit in fine. When you arrive buy a couple of summer scarves to dress it up with.

Buon viaggio!
