I will be in Florence for one day during my two weeks in Italy in February and would really like to go on a tour of the Uffizi while I'm there. Has anyone had any experiences with either private or group tours in Florence? I haven't been able to find any on the internet.

Our family was in Florence in March of 1999 and used Firenze Antica ( www.firenzeantica.org ) for a full day private tour which we were very impressed with. Our guide was an art historian and gave us some great insights into the art we were seeing as well as the history of the city.

We used the audio guide to tour the Uffizi and it worked out really well. It took you through room by room and you could skip ahead or repeat very easily.
