We have several hours in between connections upon arrival at FCO. Someone here had suggested we may get a day rate at the Hilton at the airport. A shower and a nap would be devine! Anybody know if this is available and at what price?

Cyndy - I don't know about a day room but I did want to call your attention to the fact that there are TWO Hilton hotels at FCO. There is the "regular" Hilton hotel right at the airport but there is a newer one called Hilton Garden Inn. It is also in the airport but in the cargo area and so far off the side and you need either a car or their shuttle service to get to the airport where you take your flight. They are much cheaper than the regular Hilton, we have stayed there for a night twice now and it was very good (for what it is , i.e. an airport hotel). So just for your information.

On Flyertalk, a question about day rates got the reply to contact the hotel directly. I've found that a good source for Hilton e-mail addresses is the British site www.hilton.co.uk .

I've gotten day rates at several airport hotels, but you pretty much have to call them directly.
