It is really not a bad drive at all...major highways, well marked, lots of rest stops (AutoGrill),etc. I've found it is usally takes the same amount of time for us to fly nonstop into Rome and drive down, rather than change plans and arrive into Naples) Buy a map before you go and print out directions (I like www.viamichelin.com). They are fairly used to pointing you in the right direction out of the airport towrds the Amalfi coast. It should take about 3 hours.
