Try Steph's What's on in Rome.A search of the message board will bring up previous discussions about language schools.

There is a huge number of events ( dance, cinema, music, exhibitions) that fall under the aegis of Estate Romana ( Roman Summer). Unfortunately, this year's schedule is not yet available online. You can can look at last year's calender to get a general idea of what sort of things the city sponsors to help its' natives and visitors get through the dregs of summer. You can certainly count on open air cinema on Tiber Island, scores of free concerts in a variety of genres in wonderfully evocative settings (last year, for instance, we enjoyed Beethoven's 9th at the Campidoglio, free of course), and if you like to dance Testaccio hosts the welcoming outdoor Gay Village. When you arrive in Rome simply pick up an Estate Romana booklet at the TI at Roma Termini or at any of the Tourist Information Kiosks around town. Or just keep your eyes open for flyers and postings. Nothing to stress over. Simply know that there is a lot going on and when you're there you'll figure it out. Anthony and Jennifer

This is one of my bookmarks for events in Rome: www.romeguide.itBut, I guess if you googled for "events in rome", a long list of events would be listed. Too, Copernic is also good for similar searches.
