I understand my Verizon LG cell phone will not work in Italy.
What are the options in being able to connect via cell phone?
And where do I obtain these?

You need a GSM, tri-band type cell phone in order to have cell phone service anywhere in the world outside of North America.

The options you have are to either buy or rent a GSM phone.
