I am heading to Venice this November and want to use Delta FF miles. What is the best air route to Venice using Delta? I know I might have to use Ryanair within Europe...Thank you!

Cindy, Boleskine (aka Ruth) flies out of JFK on Delta directly into Venice. That's pretty good to me. The flight doesn't operate every day, so check the delta website for options.

Good to know. I will have to find out what airport code...when I check the Delta website they do not show any direct service to Venice.

There is the direct flight to Venice from JFK, but good luck using FF miles to book it.

I see you are a travel writer based in Florida -probably they will make you go through Atlanta, then Paris. Or maybe Milan. But the best way to find out is to call Delta.

Delta allows booking of flights using FF miles 331 days ahead, and all available seats on the JFK to Venice direct flight are usually filled early. If your dates are flexible, you might get lucky.

We're actually using FF miles on our flight tomorrow - Business Class to Rome on Delta - we had an easier time booking on them than Continental; Continental wasn't freeing up seats so it would have cost us 200,000 miles to go BC round trip each but on Delta it only cost us 90,000 BC round trip. The downside, we have to haul our butts to JFK but that's not such a bad sacrafice.

Kim, Delta could get me out of Rome using FF Miles, but not Venice. That is partly why I ended up in Rome on this last trip.

Then they made me take two other flights when I got to the States. I'm telling ya, living in California is rough sometimes!
