Effective March 1st smoking in trains will be banned. This ARTICLE is in Italian but you won't have any problem in figuring this out if you use one of the translation engines in the Internet, like freetranslation.com for instance. I think it was about time to stop smokers to keep polluting the air while travelling. Thumbs Up

You are right! I don't have a car because I am a very bad driver. According to the instructor, I need a road of my own. Besides, I talk like a truck-driver if someone gets in my way Big Grin

That used to be my 'motto' few years ago. I started smoking almost a century ago (I was 18 years old)Wink but one day, one of those days where the weather can't be more miserable weather, I "saw" these shivering women smoking their lives away in front of the building where they work and the sight was so pathetic and disgusting that I couldn't bear the thought that I've been doing the same myself without realizing it. I thought: If I could get rid of a husband that was the love of my life, if I could survive the pain and grief that the death of so many relatives and friends causes, why cannot fight my addiction to tobbaco? I won't have that stinking breath, I won't have bronchitis every Winter, etc. etc. Got home, put away the pack of cigarrettes and I said: Let's see who's stronger. I swear, I never had another cigarrette. I never had withdrawals either. It was like if I've finished reading a bad book and then returned to the library and forget about it. Period. I call it "the Power of the Mind" Big Grin So far, the only temptation I cannot overcome is to plan a next visit to Venice. Hey, nobody is perfect Big Grin

I think we need to add smoking to the list of forbidden topics along with politics and religion. We've had this discussion many times before, no need to repeat it. I'll close the topic so people won't be tempted.
