on the south side of the Arno is a li'l bar called Zoe (Via Dei Renai, 13r). they have free food during happy hour (as long as you're drinking) and some nice outdoor seating w/ service.

Alyssa, sounds good - will give it a try when we walk that side of the river.

Enoteca Baldovino is a nice little place on a quiet, side street near Santa Croce. It's closed Monday.
