Dale, Did AutoEurope charge you extra for the drop-off at the Hertz office?

Does this mean I have to return the car to Hertz or can I return it to Avis and just drop the keys. How far is the office where I have to leave the car from the train station. We plan on dropping the car, after doing some sightseeing in Orvieto, then taking a train into Rome. What is the best strategy for leaving luggage, parking, returning car and taking train????

I now have, of course, a Hertz car. Fortunately, they have an office in the Bari airport for my pickup. My confirmation from Autoeurope says the Hertz office is at FFSS railway station, via7 Martini 32/F (whatever that means).
At any rate, I'll drive into Orvieto, park the car, thoroughly enjoy my pranzo at I Sette Consoli (hopefully outdoors), drive to the station and try to find the Hertz office before boarding the train to Rome.
Adventures.

Dale, The Hertz office in Orvieto is actually closer to the train station (and easier to find) than the Avis office. It's almost across the street from the station.
Just before you get to the train station (going north), there's a "Y" in the road, with the righthand (northeast) road going straight into the Stazione piazza (also to the Funicular). The lefthand part of the "Y" (northwest) goes up the hill to Orvieto. At the junction of the "Y" is a gas station---the Hertz office is a little storefront just across the street from the gas station, on the road leading up to Orvieto.
In your case, if you take the eastern road down from Orvieto (from the top funicular station) you'll find the Hertz office on the right just before you make the nearly U-turn to get to the train station.
I may have to call AutoEurope back and see what they can offer me in the way of a Hertz car in Orvieto, as it's much more convenient than Terni or Spoleto.
Thanks for the info, Lyn

Not sure if it's a mistake of Autoeurope but I could not even find Orvieto as an option on the AutoEurope website. Any ideas?
