Hi! I am finding conflicting information on the web about this museum. Some sites say that the Fortuny Museum is closed for restoration. Other websites advertise an exhibit there in March.

Does anyone know if this museum is currently open?
Thank you! Laurie

I saw the most wonderful exhibit at the Fortuny museum 4-5 years ago and would love to return. I see the signs for it every year when we are in Venice, but I didn't try to go last year. We'll be there in March and April - will let you know what I find.

According to the Comune di Venezia, Museum Fortuny is 'temporarily' closed for restauration but they have posted the list of exhibitions, starting on March 19, HERE. Click on Eventi.

Thank you, Callie. I will look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you for the link to the website, Westsider.
This is what I meant when I said I was finding conflicting information on the web. Maybe, they are reopening slowly with small exhibits. We will check on it when we are there. Thanks again for the information. Laurie

We also saw a wonderful exhibition there four or five years ago, and it was definitely closed in the spring of 2003. We did not try to visit it this winter, but i did not see any signs announcing an exhibit there. It could well be reopening in March.
