We've found some great looking places, but can't find much in the way of reviews for them. Our first choice below is the Villa Romano in Piano di Sorrento. Does anyone know if it's the same place as the Cafelletto property called "Piano di Sorrento"? I've found very different prices for what seems to be the same place--Cafelleto lists one price, other booking agencies list others. Also, anyone know about these other places near Sorrento?

1. Villa Romano alias Cafelleto: http://www.initalia.de/lodging/show.php?bh=193
1. Guss b&b/apartment: http://www.bed-and-breakfast-in-italy.com/pagina.cfm?ID=5067&IDregione=4
2. Il Mirto Bianco: http://www.initalia.de/lodging/show.php?bh=176&lg=uk
3. Fattoria Marecoccola: http://www.fattoriamarecoccola.net/en/agriturismo/ristorante.php

Many thanks!!!

Hi,

Obviously no-one who has read this knows about these B&Bs unfortunately. I was interested in your query as we like the Sorrento area a lot, but we have no knowledge of your listed B&Bs either. However just to be sure that you know where they are, I have had a look on our maps and can make a few comments about the locations.

Villa Romano - about 2 km from the coast and 4.5 km from Sorrento. Not far from shops and about 10mins walk from the nearest railway station.

Gus - about 3.5 km from Sorrento (they say 2.5km which is stretching reality a bit by my estimates)

Il Mirto - 2.5km from Sorrento (30 to 40mins walking time)

Fattoria - 8km by road from Sorrento quite high up in a hilly area and not close to any shops etc that I can see.

I hope this helps, but you may be aware of it anyway. If you want more info on locations I could photograph our map and mark the locations if that is any help and email it to you.

Cheers, Graham

Thanks, Graham. We decided to stay at the Villa Romano. We've booked it through Caffelletto, which calls the property simply "Piano di Sorrento," but I'm fairly sure it's the same place as Villa Romano--looks the same in photos. Caffelletto had lower prices than the other booking agencies. The Gus B&B also looks really nice...especially their apartment, for anyone who's looking for a nice place to stay near Sorrento. Will write a report when we return, but it won't be until the fall...

Hi, It's always great once you've made the decision, don't need to keep weighing up the pros and cons. Have a great trip.
