Anyone care to recommend a 3 star in the historic center (Spaccanapoli) of Naples? There is only one hotel review on ST for this area. Lots more on Venere but I value the ST recommendations most of all.

i did not stay in that neighborhood but i do remember someone writing about a hotel there that they stayed in and loved saying it was not for everyone but they were very happy with it. i think it was 3 or so months ago. maybe if you do a search you can find it?
i stayed not too far away on via chiaia right around the corner from gambrinus coffee shop and across from pizzeria brandi. i wrote a review.
Three stars has always seemed like two too many to me. We stayed at the one star Hotel Europeo for two nights in October and it was just lovely. Notice the website also list a few other hotels in the same group. Hotel Toledo in the heart of the Spanish Quarter wouldn't be a bad option. Hey, it even has three stars.
If stars in the centro storico are what you are looking for Hotel Caravaggio has got got four of 'em.
However, Europeo was comfy, inexpensive, friendly, and centrolissimo. Heck, within a minute you can be at Scaturchio on Piazza San Domenico eating the best Sfogliatella of your life!!
