We are using the opportunity we had to write up some "how to edit own post" instructions for a new member to remind all members that you can edit your own posts within 60 minutes of their posting. Therein, the reference to "some limitations" in the title above.
To start the self-editing process, please look at the bottom of your post that you would like to edit, specifically on the line where appears your date of registration. You will see there three icons:
- To quote another poster: If you click on the quotation mark icon, you can quote a text from another post to which you would like to post a relevant reply or comment;
- To edit your own post: If you click on the rectangle with the supposed likeness of an eraser in it, a window will open to allow you to edit the selected post. Again, you can do this only within 60 minutes from the initial posting. What to do if more than 60 minutes have elapsed? Read below!
- To use the Alert feature: If you need an edit after a period longer than 60 minutes, you can use the Alert triangle icon. This will open a different window format in which you will be able to detail your request and send it to our Moderators. The Alert option can also be used to contact a moderator in special circumstances. If you send an alert, one of us will look it up and, if necessary, act on it. In some cases the alerting member will also be contacted, again only if necessary. The text of alerts is not published in forums; only moderators see them.
The fly in this ointment is, of course!, a "bug" in the Groupee software: if you add an attachment to your post and then you wish to delete it, you cannot do it at all, even within the 60 minutes grace period, and you will have to alert (see above how) a Moderator. We will delete the attachment for you. The "bug" was reported to Groupee, but there is no date for its fix.
Please contact the Moderators (using the Alert button

!)if you have additional questions on this matter or if the above is not clear enough.
Thanks,
Your Mods
