I need to let you all know that Chris and Maureen have decided to retire as moderators. While we still look forward to their continued participation as community members (and at GTGs), due to other commitments and interest both felt this would be a good time to move on and we wish them luck with all their endeavors. On behalf of all the moderators, I also want to extend our thanks to both of you for all your contributions to the website and the community. Your efforts and involvement have been priceless.
We’ll be spending the next few weeks reorganizing moderator duties but this should be a transparent process to our membership. As always, if you have any concerns about a post, just hit the alert button. For other issues, feel free to e-mail any of the moderators or the help at SlowTrav dot com e-mail address.
Chris and Maureen, I'm sorry that I have not yet met you but I hope to cross paths at some future gtg. I know you have both given so much time and great support to these boards. Thank you for all that you have done and all the best with your future endeavors. Barb Cabot

Maureen, I remember lunch in Florence. That was a fun day and I'm glad to have met you. Thanks for all you have given to each of us over the years.
Chris, we haven't met--or have we in cyberspace? You have been such an asset to ST over the years with all of your knowledge. Thanks for sticking with it for so long. You will be missed, along with Maureen.
Sometime, someplace we will truly meet. Jane

I cannot remember a day when both of you, Maureen and Chris, were not here, moderating the board in a kind and gentle way. It will seem a little empty on Slowtalk, without both of you and your moderate moderating!
Maureen, I remember your recommendation for the Cascine Park market on my first trip to Florence and Paris...if it weren't for your generosity, I'd never have known about Casine Park. I had the best day there!
Chris, your trip report from Paris was a joy to read and it felt like I was right there with you, every day!

OH NO! It's the end of an era....I'm so sad to see you both leave. As the others have said, you been such a vital part of the moderators group that it feels as though "family" is gone missing........
I know things have to change but this is one of those changes I wish wouldn't.
Hope to see you on the Board in your different capacities. Keep travelin',
Chris & Maureen, thank you so much for all that you have done and contributed to this community and in helping to make all our travel experiences the best that it can be.
All the best to you in your future travels and endeavors.
Kathy
