Corresponding with other Slow Travelers via Private Message (PM) is a benefit of Slow Travel Talk Gold Star membership. (See details here.)

You can send a PM to someone who is *not* a Gold Star member, but please note that he or she can view the PM, but can't reply.

How to tell if is someone is a Gold Star member:
1) Before sending a PM: look for a small gold star next to the member's name on the forum. The gold star designates Gold Star membership. (Clever, hmm? )

2) After you've sent a PM: look at the top of the PM - each person invited is listed. Non-gold star members will have a slashed circle next to their names. When you mouse over it, the text "user can't post to private messages" will appear.

If you want to correspond with this person, be sure to include your email address in your message so he or she can contact you.

If you're a non-Gold Star member and receive a PM without an email address included:
Click on the sender's name on one of their SlowTalk forum posts, then click on "View [ABC's] public profile." Their email address may be listed.
