So, like many of those who e-mailed me may/may not know, our forums were down for an extended period of time today. Apparently Groupee scheduled some maintenance that could take anywhere up to 24 hours (lucky for us it took about 13 ). It appears that the notification for that maintenance may have gone to someone at IB who is no longer with the company. I'm still trying to track that down to make sure it does not happen again. Groupee also failed to post the notification of this service interruption on their own forums, for which they have apologized but left us in a tizzy for hours until someone decided to answer our service request and let us know what was happening.
Unfortunately, this meant that we were all without the forums, without forewarning for most of the morning. We do sincerely apologize for that and will do what we can to ensure it does not happen again.
Are they now working on the blogs? I can't get into an slow travel blogs. Hopefully this will mean a fix with the speed problem and if so, it is definitely worth the wait.
Blogs and forums are two totally different systems. Groupee maintains the forums - different computer - in Washington. IB maitains the blogs - computer, I think, in California.
I was totally unaware of a problem with the blogs - let me look into that.
I got into blogs fine but was going nuts thinking I was doing something wrong when I couldn't get forums to come up. I forgot they are two different url's. glad you are back up. Beth
Another disgruntled customer weighing in! I found the site down at about 11 pm PST last night, so shut down the computer and figured I'd check in this a.m. -- HA! As others have said, it was still down late into the morning, with no explanation, no announcement...NADA, except an unspecific note on the Slow Travel site this a.m.(thanks to whoever posted that).
20 lashes with a wet noodle to each of the folks at Groupee for poor communications. I think each of us who has commented deserves a free round trip air ticket to our destination of choice in Europe as compensation. All in favor?

So glad everything is back up and running - I was going through withdrawal anxiety late last night and again this morning. Reminded me of when I quit smoking. Paula
