A new release of the Groupee Message Board software was installed today and the Hide Post/Ignore List feature was installed.
You will see a Hide Post link on every post. Click that and the post is changed to one line. Handy if you are reading down a thread and want to "close" the posts you have read.
The Ignore List option lets you set certain members so that when they post, you see that they have posted, but the post is "closed".
This is definately a strange option for the board and I can't see it being used often. As Administrator there is not way for me to "turn off" the option. It was just introduced today and there is already some protests about on the Groupee Support Forums.
I would like to at least be able to style it to not be an underlined link, but I can't.
It's striking that on that Groupee Support Forum not ONE of the administrators has a positive thing to say about the new feature, and yet the Groupee person is adamant.
This was a feature that was requested by many people over the past couple of years - or so they say. I think they just implemented it wrong. With a feature like this, they have to give administrators the option of turning it on or off. I wanted to make it a feature available only to Premium Members.
