The message board was down most of Sunday evening.

Email from Groupee:

Hello,

At about 4:30 (Pacific) today our Data Center provider suffered an electrical loss, leading to an outage across our entire network.
Power has since been restored, and web services are all now back on line. We are currently working to restore service to your communities as soon as possible.

We apologize for any inconveniences this may have caused.

Thank you,
David Dreezer

Clive, that is too, too funny! There ThereI know that sinking feeling when you've already clicked and it is too late to undo it and you think, "Oh, my god! What have I done?" Happy

I had just finishing clearing my temporary internet files, cookies, and history. Then I couldn't get on SlowTalk, and I thought that I really blew it. Glad everything's working now.

Pauline and friends -- do you think my inability to use the little house icon to switch between various forum categories is part of the crash problem? Or is it something Clive did... in any event, I can't use the icon to hop between categories today.

Judy,
Doru reported the problem with the "hop to" feature earlier today.

I'd say it was either the board crash or something Clive did. Wink Grin

Oh sure, it was my first afternoon back from vacation, hoping to catch up on a week's worth of reading, and NO Slowtalk! We watched 24 episodes instead of unpacking. Smile

It looks like there are a few small problems from all this - the house icon does not give the forum shortcuts, it looks like something is not lined up right in the header, some of my ADMIN panel pages are not working right. I put in a support ticket.

I too know the feeling of typing a long post, clicking POST NOW, only to have it sit there and then disappear because our latest thunderstorm has knocked out our internet connection. Frown

Hola...

I am only owning up to twiddling a few knobs in a server in canada. (and a smaller one in new mexico)

I had nothing to do with the little house icon at all and I definately did not touch the admin stuff.....

Sue was, at the same time, doing a small rain dance outside in the vegetable garden...Do you think the thunderstorm that she produced somehow got down the sat connection and blew out your little house icon???

Hola.

Also...

If something as mighty as the slow trav little house is missing and some admin stuff has gone...what chance do I, little me, have in making my tiny image sharing website which is in its testing phase no on the everything else forum? huh? like none....

by the way..I always highlight and copy text in a post before I press post.

If it doesn't work right and you get the dreaded "page not found" screen all you have to do is fill in the heading again and paste your words in a new post

Hola.

Also....After my post at 0259 on the 30th in the everything else forum there was a time warp episode.....

in my post i clearly state i will leave it for a while before I post the address for my test image site...

I was so impatient that my "for a while" was about 20 minutes...definately no more..

So why does my next post show the time of 04.37...huh?

Obviously there is some kind of time warp thing that has put the little house icon in another dimension...or something....

I think it needs a moderator or a cleverer person to explain this one...

hahahaha

Clive (who has copied this because he knows that the post won't work the first time)

Yes, well, I always TELL everyone to do this. And tell myself to do this. But, you don't get to 22,000+ posts by taking the extra second to do this each time you post.

Note to self: During the monsoon season, always copy each post before posting.

Tell Sue thanks for our month of rain!!

Hola..

But what about the time warp...how did a post at 02.59 flip to a post of 04.37 when there was only 20 "realtime" minutes between the posts??

Any and all answers? the most bizarre get a prize.....

Also It was Sues rain dance that enabled Pauline to pull some weeds from her otherwise hard piece of ground...

Hola.

Also. 22 000 posts at 1 second per post is only 6 hours and a bit...Divided by years on the board...not a a lot really....

heheheh..

Ok I am up late and have had some wine and have funny eyes..I admit it..

But no one has broken my new image place yet...hah!!
