Last week Groupee (the company that supplies and hosts our message board) changed all the URLs for the message board to use the folder "eve" instead of "groupee". Sound familiar? Yes, just a year ago they changed from "eve" to "groupee" - and now they changed it back.
They probably heard my scream in Seattle and read my outraged support ticket (and many others, I suspect), so they have now given us the option to choose the URL format - groupee or eve.
Today I changed it back to groupee - this type of URL change affects our Google rank and makes a bunch of work for me changing URLs on SlowTrav where we refer to the board.
This notice is for any of you who noticed that "eve" folder in the past week.
Pauline, I don't know if this have anything to do with the "Eve" "Groupee" thing but all of a sudden, since logging in this morning, the look of the ST message boards has changed completely. The layout is very different and very hard to read.
I'm not sure how to describe what I'm seeing but I'll try. Instead of the messages in appearing in neat little boxes, they all kind of run together, one right after the other, without any clear indication of where one ends and the other starts. It makes for really awkward reading.
Something I should mention is this is only happening on my home computer. When I log in at work, everything looks just fine.
I just installed an upgrade to my Norton Utilities on my hom computer on Sunday morning so I was thinking this might have something to do with it but maybe not because when I logged in last night (say, around midnight) all was well. I logged in this morning (Tuesday) around 6 am and the layout had changed.
Any idea what could have happened and how to fix it?
ST Message Boards on my home computer now say "Topic powered by eve community" And, to top it all off, I can't get emoticons so I can't even insert a very puzzled little face in this message. Yeesh!
