The first Great Slow Travel Gathering, to be remembered from now on as "Savannah 2008" is over but it will leave indelible memories in the hearts of all participants and its echoes will continue to reverberate throughout our forums.
The success of the Gathering is due first, and foremost, and without any shade of doubt to the work, the enthusiasm, the imagination and the enterprise of its Planning and Organising Committee: Jan, Kathy, Leslie, Palma, Sheena and Terry!
In recognition of and with thanks for everything they have done, the Committee members are hereby proclaimed:
"Gathering Heroes"
The words "Gathering Hero" and the sign of a flower will underline their member names until the next Great Gathering.
More than deserved, Doru! I am so amazed at the stellar weekend party that Sheena, Leslie, Jan, Terry, Kathy and Palma put together for us! It was superbly crafted, well-managed and ever-so-calmly unfolded for our enjoyment.
Every possible problem was solved before it became an issue, every possible fire was put out before it became anything larger than a spark, and every cloud had a sterling silver lining...simply spectacular!
I so totally love the little pink azalea for each person...wherever did you find them, Doru?
PS... I have a birthday coming up in October... can I book you as my party planners? Please?

Each and every one of those flowers is well deserved! I can't even imagine the number of hours they spent putting the event together. It was just spectacular.
And, everytime I see one of those flowers under their names, it will remind me of the wonderful time I had in Savannah.
I think this is the PERFECT tribute to the Savannah planning committee. Not only does it reward their tremendous efforts but each time I see that flower under their names, I will smile rembering the perfect Spring weekend they planned for us in Savannah. Brava!
