I plan on going to Cabo in November and looking for a relaxing trip (not like Cancun spring break). At the same time…looking to have fun. I am thinking of staying either at Hotel Solmar in Downown Cabo or at the Melia Real in the corridor.

If staying in the Corridor…is it that much of a hassle to go to downtown Cabo a few days??

Yes I would stay in town! This way you can walk everywhere. YOu can water taxi to the beach or walk. No money wasted on taxis back and forth from the corridor.

We love Cabo...Had ten days there in December, weather was perfection!

I have stayed in Hotel Solmar about 10 years ago and while it is a lovely place with a great beach, you can't go swiming in the ocean there because of rip tides and undercurrents. They even have signs telling you not to go wading. Also as a downer, they would often have people being taken on a tour while you are trying to eat your breakfast. The tours are for time shares.

If you stay in town you can walk to El Medano Beach 10 minutes, or get the water taxi. It is a lovely swimming beach. We stay at a little place in town called Mar De Cortez and love it. It is family run, basic though, no tv or phone. But clean and a lovely pool within walking distance of everything and quiet. $60 per night. I want to go back now! That and the fabulous food in Cabo will keep me coming back again and again...
