Hi there.

I'll be travelling to Hawaii in early November 2008 with my wife, our three year-old daughter, and my parents. First we'll be in Honolulu for a few days for my wife's competition but then we'll move over to the Big Island for 3-5 days afterwards to relax and have fun.

Does anyone know of a nice place to stay that's child-friendly (and child-fun)? Almost 20 years ago I stayed near Kona at a condo/hotel called Kona by the Sea but I can't remember how kid-safe it was. Are there better areas than the immediate area around Kailua?

I suggest you buy "The Big Island Revealed", and blue book that is the best guide we have seen, mainly because the writers live there and have been to all the places they write about. they rate all the condo rental agencies, which is a great help. they also rate the beaches, etc., and tell you about ones off the beaten path.

Hi Everyone. I'm bumping this question back to the top again. With the holidays over, I'm working on planning this trip again. Anyone have any good condo suggestions in Kona?

We've rented condos at both Waikoloa and Mauna Lani. Both were great. Waikoloa has lots more going on and it is probably more kid friendly. Manua Lani is more relaxing.
