I won a trip through my work to Atlantis in the Bahamas for the end of April. It's a 5 day/4 night trip, and my husband and I would like to extend the trip. We would like one of the smaller, less commercial islands for the remainder of the time. Any ideas?

The Abacos! The Abacos are a group of islands, my favorites being Elbow Cay and Man O War Cay. There are two good websites dedicated to the Abacos:
www.abacoforum.com and www.abacomessageboard.com. We have sailed there on our own boat and have done one land-based trip to Lubbers Quarters, which is wonderful, but you would need to rent a boat to go out to eat, etc. If you have any questions, let me know!

While I have not been to the Abacos, I have been to Fernandez Bay on Cat Island and loved it. A true get away location. Rented a car for one day ($100 about 7 years ago.) and toured over much of the island. Fernandez Bay does have a web site. No affiliation but I would go back there in a moment.
