Today I received a very nice surprise from the owner of La Casita Bonita in Napa, a vacation home we rented for a night in June. My somewhat lukewarm review is here. I suspect that the owner may have seen the review online and wanted to make things right by sending me a gift -- a bottle of his own Cabernet. He owns or manages the Vinter's Collective in Napa, so I am sure the wine is very good.
Anyway, in fairness, I think I should pass along his note of apology, for anyone who might read my review. He wrote:

I am writing this note a little late, I just came back from a trip to Europe. I wanted to apologize about the Wifi issue at La Casita Bonita. We realized the day after you left that we had a serious problem with it, for which Comcast had to be called in for a reboot. I hope you can accept this gift of my own Cabernet along with my sincere apology for the inconvenience. I hope to see you the next time you are in Napa.
By the way, an interesting sidelight. I'm not sure how he arranged to ship the wine by UPS to me, since Massachusetts is not supposed to allow alcoholic beverages to be shipped to individuals. I wasn't going to say anything about it to the UPS delivery guy, but when he handed me the box (which I had to sign for), he said, "Enjoy your wine." So I asked him if they were allowed to deliver wine, thinking maybe UPS had some special program I didn't know about. But he cheerfully said, no they weren't. So I still don't know what the deal was. UPS did know the shipment was wine, because I got an email saying someone over 21 had to be home to sign for it.
