On a recent trip to Italy, I spotted this plaque on Via Garibaldi, Venice. If the photo isn't clear enough, the inscription says " JOHN CABOT, VENETIAN AND HIS SON SEBASTIAN, DISCOVERED NEWFOUNDLAND IN THE SERVICE OF HENRY VII OF ENGLAND."

It was erected by the province of Newfoundland.

Thanks for the heads up on this, Yvonne! I just looked in one of my favorite Venice books, "Venice Remembers," and see that marble busts on Via Garibaldi of Giovanni and Sebastiano Caboto have this inscription (translated from Italian):

Giovanni Caboto, emulating Columbus, discovered Newfoundland and the Northern continent of the New World. Sebastiano Caboto, cosmographer and navigator, was the first to find Paraguay and showed the way to the Northeast Passage. Erected by the City Council in honour of the two great men who lived in this district, 1881.

The description goes on to give fascinating biographical details of both father and son.
