We are planning 4 days in Quebec City in late July/early August and wanted to stay inside Quebec City for around $200 or less per night. Can you recommend a good boutique hotel convenient for walking to most sites?

Hello Sandy

Try:

Au Petit Hôtel
3, ruelle des Ursulines
Québec, Québec
Canada
G1R 3Y6

We use to go there when we lived in Toronto and travelled to Quebec 1-2 times each year. It is inside the walls, a basic no frills place very affordable but clean and an excellent base for exploring the old city centre.

Basically you will not need a car, in fact I think if you have one, you will need to park it in one of the public parking zones, which applies for all hotels inside the wall.

On the last few trips to Quebec city will took tne train and just simply walked up from the station to the hotel.

Sandy, you didn't say how many of you will be traveling, but if it's just two, if you are interested in considering a rental, this one from VRBO looks so inviting. It's in the old city and is in your price range, too.

It is definitely NOT a boutique hotel, but the location is good. I stayed at the courtyard by Marriott that is right across from one of the main gates into the old city and there is an underground parking garage next door. It was fairly inexpensive and the room was nice.

A boutique hotel in the Old Town (the lower part AKA Basse-Ville) you should definitely consider is the Dominion 1912. It suits your price range and is at walkable distance of lots of sights and restaurants.
