I am going to Mexico Saturday. I noticed there were no reviews for restaurants in all of Mexico. I decided to post this here as my question is sort a combination of North America/web question etc.
It is a lot of effort to sumbit reviews for the 8-10 places I am sure we will eat.Should I submit them or is the focus of the site more Europe based? RR
We do have some restaurant reviews for Mexico. Robert, I hope you will definitely submit some from your trip. You can find the existing reviews here in case you want to check them out before you go.
I am in Mexico City right now for work, and I plan to submit some reviews when I go back. Reviews are always welcome - I think Latin America is a great option for travelers and over the last year there seems to have been more talk about Latin America on the board.
Have you read Geoff and Jeanie's trip report from Mexico City? I highly recommend it! (Although I don't know in what part of Mexico you will be.)
I am flying to Cancun and immediately heading for Tulum. I promise reviews of every place we eat, get ready for several. Interestingly there are several businesses opened by Italians in the area, a few hotels, restaurants etc.
I just set a new Worlds Record for speed of trip report.Mine is in draft form before my trip even starts! If there is web access I may to able to write it live!
Have a super time. I envy you your trip - especially today with the snow and the wind blowing. It's a white out. The colour of the water is so wonderful - get warm for all of us! If it's hot, make sure to tour the ruins early in the day...watch out for attack iguanas...make sure you spend the requisite 3 hours a day in a hammock!

Robert, that is awesome! I will be sure to check in often to see if you post something. Last year I stayed in Playa del Carmen with mom and sister, unfortunately we visited Tulum only for one day. If I go back I would very much like to stay in Tulum instead.
i have been to Mexico several times over the years and still have family there, cousins married to mexicans/ the report from Geoff and Jeanie is very good reading.
I always go with locals, and or family so its different but there are very good restos in Polanco, Condesa and zona Rosa; the area more shady is zona Rosa of the three. If you go in the perimeter out to Cuernavaca is very good areas, the north around Guajamilpa too .
Sanborns and VIP are good entry level cafeterias. Also, a good steakhouse is Angus in Copenhagem street in zona Rosa.
Yeah, It's in the everything else category. Maybe there is enough that it can get its own seperate page with Mexico Only. I promise to review every restaurant short of a juice stand. RR
