We are visiting USA in Aug/Sept '06. I am investigating visiting Grand Canyon (from Las Vegas) and, given shortage of time, looking at helicopter flights. Has anyone any experiences, or other info on this. My investigations suggest Papillon, but happy to hear about any others. Especially interested in things like how good the view is and how much of the canyon and surrounds you get to see.

DRH,
If you are piched for time, there are fixed- wing flights from Vegas to the South Rim of the GC. Flight time from a general aviation airport in Vegas is about an hour. It is my understanding that aircraft have restrictions that are supposed to keep them well above the rim. But let's face it, if you tourists couldn't see much, there would be no demand for the service.

If you are in hurry, it's probably a good idea
to hang around LV. In August, it is REALLY hot
in Arizona.
