We are planning a last-minute week-long trip to Oaxaca. I have read Janet Zinn's Travel Notes from her trip in 2004 which has lots of great information, but I wondered if folks out there have more recent suggestions for lodging (we like to be centrally located so that we can walk to town easily), sightseeing, restaurants, etc.

We will definitely contact Roque, the travel guide that Janet recommended.

The B&B where we stayed, Las Bugambillas, is as wonderful as ever...I know several people who have stayed there since we have been and they rave about it. In fact, right after we were there they upgraded the rooms. I would highly recommend it, and its convenient to everything.

Although the page concentrates on bird tours, he definitely does craft tours as well, as Inoted--in fact my sister used him for a few days when they were at language school in Oaxaca last year.
