Can anyone help with a long-term auto rental in Los Angeles? I'm talking about a 7-week rental out of LAX in July & August. Even with the lowest rates, the insurance is killer! Using my credit card's policy to cover the damage waiver is only good for up to two weeks, so we would have to check-in the car and check-it out again on a new rental contract every two weeks! That is impossible. All suggestions welcome!

I have done long term car rentals in Canada which "officially" had the same type of policy; but they graciously offered to renew the rental contract simply through a phone call. When I returned the car, I signed a number of rental agreements to cover the extra weeks. Maybe you could enquire if they would be willing to do the same thing?

The insurance costs are extraordinarily high. Don't know any way around that, but I will keep reading this thread to see what suggestions others have.
