I am looking for an holiday apartment or studio (for 1-2 people) or a cheap hotel in Manhattan.
Can anyone suggest me sometghing?

The must are:
- Private bathroom

- Location if possible on the south side of central park

Thanks!

Leonardo, do you have a price-range - it may help. For example, when talking about Manhattan hotels I consider anything under $200 a night cheap these days but a while ago, we got a great deal at the Millennium Hilton of something like $140 a night, which I thought really good!

I was looking for something cheaper actually... around 100$ per night.
Have you any suggestions? I actually need only a 1 room apartment with private bathroom.

You might want to try Hotwire.com or Priceline.com. I bid on Priceline for 6 days' stay in Manhattan in mid-July and got NY Helmsley (3.5 stars) in Midtown East for $95/night, all taxes included.

I'd do as Flennie suggested - a one room apartment even in that range may be hard to find. I've seen those prices out of the city but then you have to commute in.

Check out Second Home on Second Avenue in the East Village between 13th and 14th. I stayed there a few years ago with a large group; in fact we had the whole place to ourselves so I saw all the rooms. Very nice budget place with 7 rooms and a kitchen. The room we stayed in was a large suite with a separate sitting room. I don't think they have a website anymore, but you can read reviews on Trip Advisor.

And there's a wonderful place for breakfast a couple of blocks away---Cafe Orlin.
